Insight into the future of glasses-free 3D technology at the 3D Innovation Hub
Aalen, December 8, 2025
3D Global GmbH welcomed a group of students from Aalen University to its headquarters in Aalen. The excursion was organized by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Heinz-Peter Bürkle, Vice Rector of Aalen University and active in teaching at the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Science.
The focus of the visit was 3D Global’s 3D Innovation Hub, a state-of-the-art demonstration center where new glasses-free 3D systems are tested and brought to life in a practical setting. The students gained exclusive insights into the latest developments in 3D displays, 3D camera systems, and innovative applications in medical technology, industry, education, digital signage, and automotive.
Selcuk Özer, Chief Business Development Officer at 3D Global, explains:
“Our 3D Innovation Hub is the heart of our research and development. Many of our employees are graduates of Aalen University themselves. In a sense, 3D Global is a spin-off of the university. We are particularly pleased that we can now show students in a practical way how research is translated into real, marketable products.”
During the two-hour excursion, participants gained comprehensive insight into development processes, optical procedures, software solutions, and the integration of systems into various areas of application. Afterwards, the students were able to try out the 3D systems for themselves and ask questions about research and innovation.
“Studying electrical engineering or computer engineering is no walk in the park – but visits like this show exactly what you’re getting into: Right on our doorstep in Aalen, exciting innovations are being created with glasses-free 3D technology, which the students were able to immerse themselves in today and thus see examples of what they can contribute to as graduates,” says Bürkle, delighted for his students.
